DAY 1: KARIBUNI UGANDA (Welcome In Uganda)

You will be picked up at Entebbe International Airport where you will be welcomed by your hotel representative or our guide dependant on booking. Then you will be transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe.

Day 2:  ENTEBBE – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (7 hrs)

En route we will make a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda. The reserve was created to reintroduce rhinos to the country which have been extinct since 1982. Together with a guide you will track the rhinos and observe them in their habitat . Proceed to Murchison Falls Uganda’s biggest national park where you will see lots of wildlife including four members of the big five, the lions, the buffaloes, the leopards and the elephants.for overnight.

Day 3: GAME DRIVES AND BOAT RIDES ON THE RIVER DELTA

After an early breakfast we start the day with a game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, with chances of seeing giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest and different species of birds. In the afternoon the safari will be continued with a boat cruise on the river Nile for game viewing at close quarters. Upon reaching the bottom of the waterfalls we will depart the boat and climb our way up to the Top of the Falls where you will be rewarded with amazing views of the Nile.

DAY 4: FORT PORTAL/ KIBALE FOREST (6 HOURS DRIVE)

We depart for Fort Portal after an early breakfast. This long journey will be rewarded with stunning views while you pass small villages and local markets. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to the dense forest of Kibale National Park. Arrive in the afternoon in time for lunch. After lunch visit Nyakasura caves and return late in the afternoon at your hotel. Overnight options are provided

DAY 5: CRATER LAKES

Have a calm breakfast before we head off for an exploration of the crater lakes. Enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and birds, and visit the CVK Crater Lake. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of the Batoro tribe and enjoy the panoramic views. Overnight options are provided

DAY 6: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING AND BOGODI WALK

Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including man’s closest relative the chimpanzees. Today, in Uganda, there are approximately 5,000 chimpanzees in the wild, which makes it a perfect place to spot them!

An experienced forest ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning or afternoon. You might also see other monkey species that live in this tropical forest. Once located, you will spend a full hour with the chimps. Since they are still wild animals, we can never guarantee you to see them and might have to settle with hearing their hoots and hollers.

Your swamp walk (2-3 hours) will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery, where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves. It is usual to spot three to four different primate species during this walk, though the highlight is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco!

Optional: Chimpanzee Habituation tracking:
At an additional fee of only $70 us dollar pp you  do the chimpanzee habituation tracking instead of the regular chimpanzee tracking. This will take all day and you will be 100% sure to have a very close enounter with your closest relatives. Book this in time because only 6 persons per day are allowed to go. Your swamp walk can be postponed to the next morning.

DAY 7: DEPARTURE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH N.P

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park has prolific game, including Gazelle, Uganda Kob, Warthog and Waterbuck. Overnight AT any of these lodges where you watch wildlife from your private verandah and fall asleep to the roaring of lions on the distant savannah.

Lions are often sighted both in the park and at the entrance to the park. Be prepared for huge numbers of hippo and elephant, and keep your eyes peeled for a leopard lazing in the sunshine.

In the late afternoon you will go for a game-drive into the park.

DAY 8: GAME DRIVE & BOAT SAFARI ON THE KAZINGA CHANNEL

Have an early breakfast at your hotel and then head out for a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light. It’s a must see of any of these animals like Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs.

In the afternoon you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Edward. Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour.

DAY 9: TREE CLIMBING LIONS (5HRS + GAME DRIVE TIME)

Have breakfast at the hotel and head to  Ishasha where you will look for the tree climbing lions: The lions have adopted tree climbing to enable them escape from the sun If you are lucky you might spot a few during your game drive, so keep your eyes open and look up! Besides these famous lions, there is other interesting wildlife to be seen, like buffalo and the Uganda kob.

After lunch you will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; home of the Mountain Gorillas. You will overnight at any of the hotels;

DAY 10: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI FOREST

Today is the big day… prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boosts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.

DAY 11: CANOEING ON LAKE BUNYONYI, DEPARTURE

Enjoy morning breakfast and then go for a canoeing activity on Lake Bunyonyi where you will take photos of this beautiful lake, and interact with the locals. Later you transfer back to Kampala, Lunch en-route. The guide will drop you off at your hotel in Kampala.
